Meet Our Partners: Elvira (Czech Republic)

We finish our Meet Our Partners series on a high with Jan Šmejcký, CEO of Elvira in Czech Republic which provides a variety of different 3D printing services. Jan tells us all about why Elvira decided to get involved with BCN3D and what he thinks makes 3D printing so special. 

 Where does your love for 3D printing come from? 

“I’m originally a technician with a lot of experience in selling technical equipment and services. The business has changed a lot since the beginning of the 90s and went a lot more virtual in the new century. 3D printing technologies give you the opportunity to stay in the digital world while also producing something physically real. Every day brings a new surprise of producing what was not possible before.” 

Why did you choose to work with us at BCN3D?

“I liked BCN3D printers from the very first moment. Since we started working with BCN3D in 2017, we’ve been like a family, using these printers to move things towards a better future. I believe in BCN3D products. With the Epsilon printers, Smart Cabinet, and other various options, we are making solutions and still talking about what we can do in the future together. Of course, mistakes exist, but I am sure that we have the force to solve them every time. Our customers are happy with the Epsilons, IDEX technology, and our services – it means they can produce whatever they need. I am looking forward to the future with BCN3D products.”

To whom would you recommend our 3D printers and why?

“I would recommend your 3D printers to…everyone! They’re a very good way of creating some things which you cannot buy. You can make anything for your home, for your business, to support your business…the list goes on.”

 How do you see the future of 3D Printing?

“I see the future as very great! I always remember the quote from Mr. Henry Ford about researching potential customers for his car production: “If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.” I think that many people right now don’t fully see how useful 3D printing can be, but in a few years this technology will be recognized as very helpful for any industry and for many different applications.”

The next time you visit our offices in Barcelona, what can we get you for a drink?  

“That depends! In spring, I like drinking Campari Orange and in the winter I go for hot wine because it gets pretty cold here in the Czech Republic!”
